Thought: Individual success is the result of incredible value provided to the rest of society.

The reason why Apple is a huge company is because it impacted society on unprecedented scales.

Same with every huge company in the world.

Once again, we are all interconnected. The path to individual success is through immense impact on others.

Whether this be through valuable product, or influence, or other means. Success is not done in a vacuum. It is done through connection.

This interconnection makes necessary the process of “giving back”.

When the head of the body gets far ahead of the rest of it, it must pull the rest of the body with it, or risk simply getting ripped off.

This is something of an extension of the Social Contract idea in the Renaissance.

The power of the government was granted by the people and can be taken away by the people by force.

The success of any company was granted by its customers. And can be taken away by force.

Companies that have forgotten that their success is granted by their customers will soon discover this as customers wake up to their own role in the economy.
